After a week-long jury trial in Fulton Superior Court, following an entrenched legal battle spanning several years, Graham Legal's clients, members of the Sword of the Lord Church in East Point, Georgia, prevailed in a dispute involving the intersection of the First Amendment and separation of church and state issues, on one hand, and corporate law, on the other. The jury concluded that the governance of the church, including what members could be appointed to the Board of Directors, was ultimately an ecclesiastical matter that should be left to the members rather than by reference to Georgia's corporate code. Jason Graham was lead trial counsel on the case and Mary Meyer second-chaired.
